Sandro eyes Tottenham title tilt

Tottenham midfielder Sandro believes the club can surprise their Premier League rivals and win the title this season.

Andre Villas-Boas' side currently sit fourth in table, 13 points behind leaders Manchester United. But Sandro, 23, believes the north London club have been underestimated by many of their rivals - and sees no reason why they cannot steal in to take the title come the end of the campaign.

The Brazilian has highlighted the side's recent come-from-behind victory against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light - a game that the reigning champions, Manchester City, failed to get anything from just a week earlier - as evidence that Spurs are a force to be reckoned with.

"Everybody talks about United, City and Chelsea, but never Spurs," said Sandro. "We have just won a hard game at Sunderland and Manchester City could not beat them here. We are not content to be just a top-four side. We are looking up the table.

"But no-one is talking about Spurs as champions and that suits us. I hope it carries on like that until the end of the season and then bang! We are there. We believe we are as good as the top teams."
