Mourinho: Kaka to stay in January

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has said he does not expect Kaka to leave the club in January.

Kaka, 30, has struggled for regular first team football at the Bernabeu, but Mourinho wants to keep hold of the Brazilian to add extra depth to his squad.

He said: "I don't think that Kaka will go anywhere. He will stay. And as I've said all along, if he stays then it is good for us because he provides us with an extra option."

Mourinho went on to wish Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova a speedy recovery as the 44-year-old began a second battle with cancer.

Vilanova had operation on his parotid gland on Thursday, which the club confirmed went "as expected", and will now start six weeks of chemotherapy.

"With things like this we are on the same side," Mourinho said. "For Tito, for his family and for everyone with health problems we are all hoping together that they all recover."
