Lyon president blasts Ibra

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas claimed Zlatan Ibrahimovic should have been sent off during Paris Saint-Germain's 1-0 defeat of OL on Sunday, a decision "which would have changed the game".

• Blog: PSG win ugly

Lyon were overtaken at the top of the table by PSG, for whom Blaise Matuidi headed home the only goal of the game in first half stoppage time, latching onto the end of a cross from Ibrahimovic. Aulas, however, insisted the Swedish international should not have been on the pitch having clashed with OL defender Dejan Lovren just five minutes previously, an incident which left the Croatian centre-back with a head wound.

"Certain things were done during the game that I didn't like. When Lovren was assaulted, when he had his face trodden on and it's done with force so as to hurt him, I think a decision had to be made which would have changed the game," Aulas said. "In my opinion, it was done deliberately, and I hope the [French Football League's] Video Commission will look at it."

Though TV replays clearly showed Ibrahimovic's left foot coming down on Lovren's forehead, they were inconclusive with regard to whether or not the PSG forward intended to make contact as he leapt over the prone OL defender.

"Everyone has told me that he did it on purpose," Lovren said. "Regardless, my head really hurts. I think it's serious, but the commission will do its job. He apologised, which is good, and I accepted his apology, but the problem is that he did it."
