Juventus and Milan ease to triumphs

Juventus extended their lead at the top of Serie A with a comfortable 3-0 victory over 10-man Atalanta.

• Blog: Is there a Pazzini problem?
• AC Milan 4-1 Pescara
• Blog: Juve widening the gap
• Juventus 3-0 Atalanta

Mirko Vucinic put the home team in front in the second minute with Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio adding further goals within the first half an hour.

Thomas Manfredini was then shown a red card for Atalanta, who were fortunate to avoid any further damage as Juve continued to attack but could not add to their first-half salvo.

AC Milan's revival shows no signs of abating as the Rossoneri claimed a fourth consecutive victory at the expense of struggling Pescara as they won 4-1.

The Delfini, who have now lost five games from six, might have salvaged a point if they had not contributed two own-goals to Milan's bid for a Champions League place.

A late goal from Sergio Pellissier earned Chievo a third successive victory in Serie A and ended Roma's own run of four wins on the trot.

A draw seemed the most likely outcome at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, but Pellissier struck three minutes from time to ensure the points would stay in Verona.

The result sees Roma lose ground at the top while Chievo continue to head the right way up the standings.

Fiorentina moved into the top five of Serie A with a comfortable 4-1 win over local rivals Siena in a one-sided Tuscan derby.

Luca Toni and a David Pizarro penalty put Fiorentina in the driving seat within 20 minutes, with Alberto Aquilani wrapping up victory on the stroke of half time.

Bologna pulled away from the Serie A relegation zone with an unexpected 3-2 win at high-flying Napoli.

Despite taking the lead through Manolo Gabbiadini in the 10th minute, there was little to suggest Bologna would take all three points from the Stadio San Paolo when Napoli turned the game through Alessandro Gamberini and Edinson Cavani.

But two goals in three minutes from Panagiotis Kone and Daniele Portanova earned Stefano Pioli's side a win that dented Napoli's title hopes and boosted their own chances of survival.

Parma survived an early scare before three second-half goals ensured their proud unbeaten home record in Serie A remained firmly intact against Cagliari in a match that finished 4-1.

Roberto Donadoni's side have now not at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in 13 league games dating back to March, although today they had to recover from going behind to Marco Sau's 20th-minute opener.

Catania registered back-to-back Serie A wins for the first time this season by coming from behind to beat Sampdoria 3-1.

Enzo Maresca had Samp dreaming of a possible first away win since September with an early penalty before Catania substitute Mario Paglialunga levelled after the break.

Gonzalo Bergessio boosted Rolando Maran's men into the lead with a close-range header and Catania made the points safe through Lucas Castro's effort on the stroke of full-time.

Andreas Granqvist grabbed an equaliser but Genoa could not find the winner they desperately needed to see off fellow strugglers Torino and improve their position towards the foot of Serie A.

Sweden international Granqvist nodded home after 29 minutes to cancel out Rolando Bianchi's opener for the visitors.
