Milan see off Reggina

AC Milan overcame Serie B side Reggina 3-0 in the Coppa Italia.

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri was not left to rue his decision to field a fringe team as his side progressed to the quarter-finals.

Allegri took the likes of Stephan El Shaarawy and Antonio Nocerino out of his side, but watched on as his improving squad saw off the Amaranto.

It did take them until the second half to get going, but when they did they never looked back, with Mario Yepes opening their account six minutes after the interval.

M'Baye Niang then made it two with 11 minutes left, before Giampaolo Pazzini wrapped things up in the 81st minute, with El Shaarawy and Nocerino resting on the bench.
