Ancelotti delighted with Pastore

PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti says he has been delighted with the way Javier Pastore has responded to criticism in recent games and claims he never wanted to leave the club.

Pastore has struggled to adapt to French football following his big-money move to Paris
Javier Pastore has never wanted to quit the club

Pastore, 23, joined PSG from Palermo in 2011 for a fee of around €40 million but the creative midfielder has not lived up to expectations and has put in some inconsistent performances this season which have resulted in reports linking him with a move away.

Ancelotti however, is keen to keep the Argentine and has been impressed with the way he has turned his form around.

"He has changed his attitude,” he told RMCsport. “He has regained confidence and it has helped him. Maybe his new position has given him a sense of freedom. He has played the last two games and done very well.

"Pastore has never thought of leaving, he is an important player for the club. In football, there are difficult times and the important thing is the reaction. His response to the situation has, to his credit, been very good."

Pastore has featured in all of the capital club’s Champions League games and added four assists from 12 games in Ligue 1.
