Advantage Sao Paulo in Copa final

Sao Paulo grabbed the advantage in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final, holding Tigre to a 0-0 draw in Argentina on Wednesday.

In a fiery encounter, both sides were reduced to ten men after a scuffle in the 15th minute. During a minor clash, Sao Paulo's Luis Fabiano attempted to kick Tigre's Alejandra Donatti but missed.

Fabiano was shown red for kicking out at his opponent, while Donatti was sent off for diving under no contact.

The match gained momentum towards the latter stages of the first half with Sao Paulo dominating possession and having the better chances.

Tigre did show some promise in attack, but struggled to break down the visitors' defence on most occasions.

Sao Paulo will host the second leg of the final on December 12.
