Benitez not fearful of Roman shadow

Rafael Benitez has insisted he is under absolutely no pressure from owner Roman Abramovich to arrest Chelsea's slump in form.

Benitez was parachuted in following the decision to sack Roberto Di Matteo, but it has been a tough start to life at Stamford Bridge with two 0-0 draws and a loss to West Ham.

He has also incurred the wrath of the Chelsea faithful who were unhappy with his appointment and have voiced their displeasure.

It was claimed this week that Chelsea were considering bringing in Avram Grant in a bid to aid Benitez's transition, a story denied by the Blues.

Benitez claims he has heard nothing from the club with regard to Grant being brought in and although he has held plenty of discussions with Abramovich, they have all been positive.

When asked about Grant, Benitez said: "All the information I have is he is not coming. So for me it is just a story in the press."

His relationship with Abramovich would appear to be positive, as Benitez said: "I spent a lot of time with him the last ten days. After this game (defeat to West Ham), people were talking to him. We spoke and said the first half was so good. We then made a mistake and we have to find solutions.

"The team looks stronger in defence but we have to analyse the problem we have. We have to manage better against teams that are strong physically. There are positives, but there are things that we can improve."
