Beckham coy after MLS farewell

David Beckham pledged his commitment to MLS development following Los Angeles Galaxy's 3-1 Cup final triumph over Houston Dynamo on Saturday evening, but refused to elaborate on what the future holds for him.

• Tyler: MLS Cup final review
• Carlisle: Becks rides into the sunset

Beckham and the Galaxy secured back-to-back title wins in a comeback effort which saw Omar Gonzalez, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane score in a dramatic second half.

The former England captain has recently been linked with a return to his homeland, as well as clubs in Australia, China and France. But, for now, Beckham insists his only focus is enjoying his final victory in Galaxy colours.

"This is very special for us. To win at our own home is fantastic," he said.

"I always said I was going to stick by it. When I'm committed to something I'm committed to the end. It's sad that it is the end; this has been a special place for me and continues to be special to me.

"I'm happy to have been part of this for nearly six years and to have been successful with this club for four years.

"I'm going to continue my commitment to this league, this country and this sport. My commitment stays the same to growing this league and growing the sport in this country."

Asked where he would be playing next, Beckham added: "I have no idea, what's more important is that I'm happy I'm wearing this uniform today."

Beckham also shrugged off reports he is set to retire, as the 37-year-old prepares to weigh up his options prior to an expected decision in the coming weeks.

He told Sky Sports News: "I feel tired right now but I'll be alright for while more. I'll continue to play, go get some rest over Christmas and decide where to go and I'm going to do."

Information from the Press Association was used in this report.
