Davids: Big jobs like Juventus are easier

Edgar Davids has revealed an ambition to replace Antonio Conte at Juventus, claiming it is easier to coach a bigger club than a smaller one.

Davids, 39, is currently employed by League Two side Barnet and says he is using experience gained from all of his previous coaches to forge a successful career for himself on the touchline.

The Football League's bottom side have only been defeated three times in nine games since the former Netherlands, Barcelona and Juventus midfielder arrived in October, but he thinks he would adapt to coaching at the top level far easier.

"Conte is good, but I'd take his place on the bench," he told TuttoSport. "If Juve call you say yes but it is much easier with a big club.

"Look at Frank Rijkaard – at Sparta Rotterdam he was disastrous but went to Barça and won everything. Conte was the same. What did he do at Atalanta? Now he is working fine, but at first...

"I'm enjoying my time as a coach but I think I could do it in Serie A. All my previous coaches, from [Louis] Van Gaal to [Marcelo] Lippi, have taught me something."
