David Beckham not ruling out England

Omar Gonzalez and Robbie Keane praise the outgoing LA Galaxy midfielder.

LONDON -- David Beckham says he is mulling over "some quite exciting options" as he seeks the final challenge of his career.

However, the ex-England captain says a return to his home country is unlikely because "I can't see myself playing for any other Premier League club" than former team Manchester United.

On Friday, Andre Villas-Boas ruled out any chance that Beckham would play alongside Jermain Defoe at Tottenham.

"It would be good to have him back in Europe, but not here, no. I don't think so," Villas-Boas said. "He brings so much to English football. That's why everyone is anxious to see which move he is going to take."

Defoe said Friday that Beckham would be welcomed to Spurs with open arms.

Tottenham tried to sign Beckham on loan two seasons ago during the MLS off-season but the deal fell through, although the former England captain did train with the north London club for six weeks.

Beckham, speaking in Los Angeles, tells British broadcaster Sky Sports: "I'm lucky -- at the age of 37, I've been offered some quite exciting options and there are a few options on the table."

He didn't specify which clubs had approached him.

He told Sky Sports he has been in talks with an MLS franchise about owning stake in a team.

Beckham, who is leaving the Los Angeles Galaxy after Saturday's MLS Cup final, has been linked with possible moves to Australia's A-League or Paris Saint-Germain.

Beckham says "retirement hasn't come into my head yet.

"I do think I'll be spending more time in England though and it's good for our kids to see their grandparents," he told Sky Sports.

"Over the last six years it's been difficult not seeing them as much as we'd like and they'd like, but we definitely won't be leaving L.A. for good."
