Holloway: Zaha suitors can go and whistle

Ian Holloway has told Arsene Wenger and other managers they can "go and whistle" if they think they can sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha in January.

Palace boss Holloway is bracing himself for offers for 20-year-old winger Zaha, who has been the star of the south London club's superb Championship season so far.

Arsenal have sent their scouts to watch him on several occasions in recent weeks, while Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are also believed to be interested.

Gunners boss Wenger acknowledged last week that Zaha was on his radar when asked about the England international - comments to which Holloway has taken exception.

The Sun quoted Holloway as saying: "Why is he talking about my players? It's not the game.

"I will be picking up the phone to talk to him as I don't think it is right and proper, with the greatest respect. That is totally bad etiquette."

He said Zaha would not be for sale when the transfer window re-opens, no matter how much the Selhurst Park club may be offered.

"Wilf is a big part of our season and we have such a strong contract others can go and whistle," Holloway added. "He won't be available, no matter what the price is, in January."
