Robben set to miss crunch clash

Jupp Heynckes has said Arjen Robben could miss Saturday's German 'clasico' between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

• Blog: Day of firsts for Bayern

The injury-prone winger had voiced he might be able to play against Dortmund but when speaking to the press on Tuesday, Bayern boss Heynckes claimed otherwise.

"I have read that he will be playing on Saturday, too," Heynckes said. "But he has not trained. He works in rehab and we will see when he returns to team training."

The Bayern boss will definitely be without Robben, Daniel van Buyten and Luiz Gustavo on Wednesday when Bayern meet Freiburg.

After shock defeats for Schalke 04 away to Hamburger SV and Eintracht Frankfurt at home to FSV Mainz, and a surprise draw for Borussia Dortmund at home to Fortuna Dusseldorf, a win for Bayern could open up an 11-point gap over Dortmund.

Bayer Leverkusen, the only team to beat Bayern this season, could climb into second with a win away to SV Werder Bremen.

"I'm solely focused on Freiburg," Heynckes said at a press conference. "We're in good form and want to stay in the groove."

Heynckes also announced he would be "making no concessions" in terms of his line-up and will field Bastian Schweinsteiger, despite a suspension looming over the Germany international, who has picked up four yellow cards so far.
