Dusseldorf hold Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund were punished for not seeing off Dusseldorf as they were pegged back to draw 1-1 at the Westfalenstadion.

Jakub Blaszczykowski's goal just before half-time seemed like it would be enough for Jurgen Klopp's side to put the pressure on league leaders Bayern Munich. However they took the foot off the pedal in the second half and invited Stefan Reisinger to equalise.

The visitors ended the game with 10 men as Ivan Paurevic saw a second yellow card late on, but they came away with an unexpected, yet valuable point from Dortmund.

Hamburg dealt Schalke's title hopes a blow with a 3-1 victory leaving Huub Stevens' men 10 points off pace setters Bayern Munich.

Thorten Fink's side took the lead through Maximilian Beister in the 52nd minute with Artjoms Rudnevs adding a second 13 minutes later.

Although Klaas Jan Huntelaar reduced the arrears 10 minutes from time for third-placed Schalke, it was Milan Badelj who had the last word as Hamburg bounced back from a 2-0 defeat to Fortuna Dusseldorf last Friday night to get their own push for a place in Europe back on track.

Mainz took the honours in the Rhine-Main derby to edge towards the top six and dent Frankfurt's own European hopes with a 3-1 win at the Waldstadion.

Goals from Andreas Ivanschitz and Shawn Parker gave Thomas Tuchel's side a two-goal cushion to take into the interval and a third from Nikolce Noveski ended Frankfurt's hopes early in the second half.

Hannover bounced back from their mauling in Munich with a deserved 2-0 win at home to struggling Greuther Furth in the Bundesliga tonight.

Mame Biram Diouf opened the scoring early on and Mario Eggimann headed a second midway through the second half as the hosts put Saturday's 5-0 defeat by Bayern Munich behind them.
