The Rest of the World team picked up a much-needed victory last weekend, with our challenger having a correct score at Upton Park to seal the deal. That means it's getting very tight at the top of the table, and the ROTW can cliimb level with Tommy Smyth at the top if Josh Schipper can take all three points in this round. Josh tells us: "I am a student studying English and Philosophy, here in Rochester, New York in the USA. I'm actually friends with Peter Hartz, last week's winner, and I am going to visit him in France in March. "We are looking to scrounge up some tickets for Newcastle at the Liberty Stadium. I've been part of the Toon Army for years, mainly because of Micheal Owen's brief stint at St. James' Park." Small world, who'd have thought this entry would have been plucked out of the bag? Game on!
For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on Press Pass' Tommy Smyth and ESPN journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.
Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result
After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.
Hardly a vintage round, but that won't bother Dale as he does enough to win the round and move to the top of the table.
