Miguel Calero hospitalized

Former Colombian national team goalkeeper Miguel Calero was hospitalized late Sunday night after suffering an apparent cerebral thrombosis at his home in Pachuca, Mexico.

The 41-year-old retired goalkeeper, who was a coach with the Pachuca team in the Mexican Football League, was taken to a Mexico City hospital via helicopter for treatment.

Calero retired from Mexican League action on Sept. 29, 2011 after suffering a venous thrombosis in his left arm. With Pachuca, he won three Mexican League titles and played for the Colombian national team from 1995-2007.

Information from Efe News Agency was used in this report.
