Ribery wants to end career at Bayern

France international Franck Ribery said he hopes to end his career with Bayern Munich after his club hammered Hannover 5-0 to move nine points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

Speaking to kicker after the game, in which he scored, Ribery said: "I hope to end my career in Munich. I can only repeat - FC Bayern is my family. I feel at home here, and our family is very happy in Munich."

Ribery, 29, was one of the stars in a one-sided game that put an end to talk of a Bayern wobble. Two 1-1 draws against ten-man opponents Nurnberg and Valencia had critics questioning whether Bayern could keep up their early momentum.

Ribery had missed the Nurnberg match but, despite bruised ribs, featured at Valencia. "It might have been better to rest," he said. "But sometimes you have to take the risk. I am still in pain, and probably it won't go away until the winter break. I have to live with it and grit my teeth."

Ahead of a crucial week that sees Bayern travel to in-form Freiburg and face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, he stressed: "I want to play in Freiburg. We should not be casual about that game."

And he warned that Dortmund would pose a major challenge, saying: "Dortmund are back. They have a good team and it is not easy playing against them. It has been a while since we have beaten them in the league, but we should not let that pressure us too much."

Bayern extended their lead as chasers Schalke and Frankfurt drew 1-1 at the Schalke Arena.

As they took Hannover apart, Spain international Javi Martinez scored his first goal for the club with a bicycle kick and Brazilian defender Dante also grabbed his first Bayern goal after a summer transfer from Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Germany striker Mario Gomez, making his comeback from a long injury lay-off, scored with his first touch and said: "After such a long time with no football, it's a wonderful feeling to play and score again.

"The goal was incredible, I was really elated, and I remembered how much football matters to me."
