Atletico Mineiro look set to fend off bids from rivals Fluminense and Santos for Ronaldinho, with the Brazilian hopeful of signing a new deal at the club in the next week.
Ronaldinho, 32, has had a successful season with Atletico after moving from Flamengo earlier in the year, prompting interest from a number of Brazilian clubs.
But his current side have moved to extend the attacker's contract and Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto Assis, was reluctant to reveal details of a possible deal, although he did suggest Atletico are the favourites..
"I cannot confirm the renewal, but here he has the conditions to stay and this is the feeling in the air," Assis told Lancenet. "The relationship is very good and we have all the prerequisites to renew.
"I do not know if it will be two years, three, four, or a lifetime. Let us discuss calmly, with tranquility, he is happy at the club. We have a meeting set for next week. The year is not over for him. He is focussing on his next two matches for Atletico which will shape the season."
