Ancelotti delighted with two-goal Lavezzi

Paris St Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti praised striker Ezequiel Lavezzi after he scored twice at Dynamo Kiev to seal the club's place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

After the home side had dominated the first half, Lavezzi struck to give PSG the lead on half-time and made it 2-0 seven minutes after the restart following a mistake by defender Yevhen Khacheridi.

"For the first time, we saw the Lavezzi that everyone knows," Ancelotti said. "He played a good game - he scored and he was very dangerous.

"Unfortunately he has had injury problems, but he has regained his fitness and the future will be better for him."

The win means PSG take on Porto - one point ahead of them - at the Parc des Princes next month with the chance of winning their group, and Ancelotti said that, despite having secured qualification, they would go all-out for victory.

The coach said he was delighted that his players had bounced back from their weekend Ligue 1 defeat against Rennes, but said their sluggish start in Kiev could have been a hangover from it.

"The defeat last weekend left traces," he explained. "We were not back out on the field with a free spirit. There was a lot of pressure, but fortunately the rest of the game was better."

Thiago Silva, who was promoted to captain in the absence of Mamadou Sakho, could keep the armband after an impressive performance, Ancelotti said.
