PSG enter race to sign Beckham

Paris Saint-Germain have expressed their interest in signing David Beckham once the former England captain leaves LA Galaxy in December, according to reports.

Beckham announced on Monday that the 2012 MLS Cup final on December 1 will be his last game in the US, but insisted that he is not ready to hang up his boots just yet.

He told the Major League Soccer website: "I've had an incredibly special time playing for the LA Galaxy, however, I wanted to experience one last challenge before the end of my playing career."

Beckham has been linked with a number of European, South American, Chinese and Australian clubs since rumours emerged of his impending departure after five years in America.

And ESPN understands that one offer on the table in China stands to see Beckham earn more than £1 million-a-month, with talks on-going.

Beckham is also considering a move to Brazil, but would only consider one of the top clubs. The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and AC Milan star would like to play in a new country which would make a move to PSG attractive, and one he almost made a year ago. PSG would be prepared to match the lucrative offer that was on the table then.

ESPN broke the story that he would reject PSG and remain with LA Galaxy, and last week ESPN hinted that he would want to play on until he is close to 40 years old if he opted to move on from Galaxy.
