Former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is keen to return to Goodison Park on loan during the Major League Soccer off-season.
Cahill's New York Red Bulls failed to make the finals and Cahill has expressed a desire to rejoin David Moyes' side in an attempt to maintain fitness for the 2013 season.
Landon Donovan has been welcomed back at Everton twice since he joined the LA Galaxy and while Cahill is yet to speak with Moyes, he is hopeful of reaching a similar agreement for another stint in the Premier League.
"With my move, the main thing is that I get to enjoy the MLS, but I also get the chance of going back to the Premier League and playing in the best league in the world," Cahill said. "I am eager to come back and hopefully something can be done with Everton.
"It would be nice, but it is not down to me. I have to respect that sometimes the ship has sailed, but I know I have a lot more to offer."
