Inter chief: Club ill-treated by officials

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti feels the club are being unfairly punished by referees "incapable of doing their jobs properly", but rubbished talk of a conspiracy against them.

• Branca: Inter making progress

Moratti was angered after seeing Inter denied a penalty for what was a clear foul on Andrea Ranocchia during their 2-2 draw with Cagliari - although replays seemed unable to provide definitive proof as to whether the incident took place inside the box.

The Nerazzurri have since called for a media blackout with manager Andrea Stramaccioni and his players avoiding the usual post-match interviews, however, Moratti has stepped forward to clarify the club's position.

"For the last three games in a row we have been penalised," he told Mediaset. "Fortunately, we won in Turin anyway thanks to the grace of God! I do not like the attitude of the referees and today they stopped us from getting our result.

"I cannot stay silent, as I have to point out certain injustices. It is a great shame and I would hate to return to certain situations of the past. Let's not joke around here, the penalty was clear as day.

"You journalists need to analyse these incidents. I am irritated by certain pundits who try to save face by saying it wasn't a penalty. Some entertain themselves by pretending it wasn't a penalty, but if that's not a spot-kick then I don't know what is.

"There is no design against us, it's just that the referees are incapable of doing their jobs properly. If that weren't the case, then it would be even more stupid."
