Mattheus given call-up

The son of former Brazil international Bebeto has been called into the Selecao's Under-20 squad.

Flamengo attacking midfielder Mattheus' birth in 1994 was celebrated by Bebeto, Romario and Mazinho who performed the famous 'cradle rocking' routine after Brazil had scored against Holland in the 1994 World Cup quarter-final win against Netherlands.

Brazil went on to win that tournament and now Mattheus, 18, is following in his father's footsteps by earning international recognition.

Mattheus made his domestic debut in February and has gone on to appear nine times, while Bebeto is now a politician and was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro in 2010.

"My father had a great career and he is an example for me to follow," he said following his debut, a 0-0 draw with Olaria. "He has given me great peace of mind, telling me just to do my best."
