Remy injury leaves Marseille short of strikers

Marseille are suffering an injury crisis in attack after striker Loic Remy was ruled out for at least two games with a thigh injury.

• Agent: Barca wanted Valbuena

France striker Remy suffered the injury during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Nice and has been ruled out of the forthcoming Ligue 1 match against Bordeaux and next week's Europa League clash against Fenerbahce.

"Loic Remy had scans this morning which revealed a small detachment of the membrane in his left thigh. He will be unavailable for between 10 and 12 days," a statement on the club's official website said.

The injury - the same one that ruled him out of Euro 2012 - could also mean he misses the Ligue 1 game against Lille the following weekend if his recovery is delayed any further.

With fellow strikers Andre-Pierre Gignac and Jordan Ayew also out, injured and suspended respectively, Andre Ayew is the only fit senior striker.

Florian Raspentino has made five late appearances from the bench in his first season at the club, while Billel Omrani's only senior appearance so far came in October 2011.

In addition to Remy, reserve goalkeeper Gennaro Bracigliano will be on the sidelines for three weeks after suffering a shoulder injury just minutes before the Nice game kicked off.
