Ballotelli agent denies talk of City exit

Mario Balotelli's agent has insisted the Manchester City striker is committed to the Premier League champions.

• Blog: City exorcise ghosts
• Paper round-up: Balo parties again

Balotelli was omitted from the City matchday squad for Sunday's 2-1 win over Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium, a game he watched from the stands. The Sun has reported that the Italy international was informed of his omission the previous day and went for a night out in Alderley Edge.

With Balotelli already aware he would not be in action, the 22-year-old had not broken any club rules but the controversial player's actions have inevitably led to renewed speculation about his future in some quarters.

However, Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola has denied any talk of his client leaving the club, either due to City manager Roberto Mancini losing patience with the player or by his own volition.

The striker has made only six starts this season and has cut a frustrated figure on occasions, but Raiola claims Balotelli has every intention of seeing out his contract, which runs until 2015.

"There's no Italy and no plans to go there," Raiola told The Independent. "He'll work until the end of his contract. He doesn't want to leave."

Commenting on Balotelli's omission against Spurs, Raiola said: "There's no player happy with not playing in a game but he accepts it. It's all part of the game. It doesn't mean he wants to leave Manchester."

Balotelli is currently with the Italy squad ahead of Wednesday's friendly against France in Parma.
