Jozy Altidore scores 9th league goal

United States international Jozy Altidore scored the equalizing goal as AZ Alkmaar rallied for a 2-2 draw away to ADO Den Haag on Saturday.

Altidore, tied for second in goals in the Eredivisie, found the net with his ninth league goal of the season after 64 minutes but neither side could find a winner.

Erik Falkenburg put AZ ahead after 22 minutes but goals either side of the break from Charlton Vicento and Danny Holla, the latter from the penalty spot, put ADO in charge.

FC Utrecht missed the chance to move level on points with third-placed Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie tonight after a surprise 4-0 thrashing at RKC Waalwijk.

Teddy Chevalier opened the scoring after five minutes but it was not until late on that RKC confirmed its superiority. Florian Jozefzoon made it 2-0 with 16 minutes to go and there was still time for Imad Najah and Sander Duits to get their names on the scoresheet.

NEC moved up to fifth after hitting back to beat Heracles 3-2 in Nijmegen.

A brace from Samuel Armenteros overturned Rick ten Voorde's opener for the hosts and put Heracles in position to record its fourth win of the season. But Leroy George equalised with 19 minutes to go before Ten Voorde won it with his second of the contest.

Rock-bottom Willem II's misery continued with a 4-1 thrashing at improving VVV-Venlo.
