Jol happy to stay as Fulham open talks

Martin Jol revealed he is "happy to stay" at Fulham after the club approached him to remain at Craven Cottage until 2014.

The London club reportedly wishes to activate a clause in the Dutchman's contract that would extend his stay for a further season.

Jol has enjoyed a successful time at Fulham, leading the club to its second-highest point tally in the Premier League in just his first year in charge last term, and he remains committed to furthering the progress he has made.

Jol has also revealed that captain Brede Hangeland has been offered a new deal as the club works to keep its senior players committed to the club as well as their manager.

"We made him a very good offer and he smiled for the first time since a couple of months ago, so I think he was quite happy," said Jol.

"Hopefully, he will sign that because he's never injured and always plays. He leads by example and we would love to have him here for the next couple of years.

"You always hope people will be satisfied. We pay good wages and made him a very good offer.

"I didn't see him because I don't do the negotiations but the people who do that told me he was quite happy."
