Napoli stadium given green light

Napoli have received clearance from UEFA to open all sections of their San Paolo home for Thursday's match with Dnipro after the governing body conducted an inspection of the stadium on Tuesday.

UEFA have given the club a number of official warnings that the Europa League tie would only be able to go ahead with either certain sections of the ground shut off or behind closed doors altogether amid security fears stemming from their previous match against AIK back in September.

But, thanks to the efforts of both Napoli and the local council – who own and maintain the San Paolo – those concerns have been alleviated following two weeks of reconstruction work.

A brief note on the club's official website said: "UEFA, after verifying the correct execution of work on the stadium by SSC Napoli, has removed the inhibition of the sale of certain sectors, allowing Napoli to sell tickets for all areas of San Paolo for the match on Thursday with Dnipro."

It was the second piece of good news for the Serie A club after it was also revealed that cardiological checks on Walter Mazzarri proved he had no medical issues with his heart and is free to take his place on the bench as usual.
