Allegri not concerned by Guardiola links

Massimiliano Allegri insists he is not worried for his future at AC Milan despite Pep Guardiola's brother attending the club's Champions League match against Malaga at San Siro.

Former Barcelona coach Guardiola, who spent time in Italy towards the end of his playing career, has repeatedly been linked with the Milan job - among others - as he takes time away from the game in New York.

Allegri's future is still the subject of intense speculation as he struggles to kickstart the Rossoneri's campaign, and the presence of Guardiola's brother, an agent named Pere, along with Manel Estiarte, one of the former Barcelona coach's close friends, in Milan on Tuesday sparked rumours negotiations were in progress.

Allegri, speaking after the 1-1 draw with Malaga, said he was not concerned. He told "The presence of Guardiola's entourage in the crowd didn't worry me. There have been countless names and rumours circulating - the story has bored me a bit and it's up to the club to deal with these situations.

"Milan has different problems - recovering in the league and qualifying from the Champions League. It's up to me to achieve these objectives and I will do my best for as long as I'm on this bench."

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani had denied rumours he had met Pere Guardiola prior to Tuesday's game, and on Wednesday morning iterated that there had been no contact.

"Despite the denials of yesterday, there are still claims of a meeting between myself with family members or agents of Mr Pep Guardiola," Galliani said on the club's official website. "I repeat that I have never met any of these people and I challenge anyone to prove the contrary."

El Mundo Deportivo reports that Pere Guardiola, who does not act as his brother's agent, was in Milan with Estiarte on personal business. He was invited to the game by Malaga, according to the Catalan newspaper, as he represents Brahim, one of the club's youth players.
