Liverpool agree deal for Obi - sources

Bordeaux weigh up Chamakh loan

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has confirmed the club is considering a move to re-sign Morocco striker Marouane Chamakh on loan.

Chamakh, 28, left Bordeaux for Arsenal in 2010 after an eight-year spell in which he helped the club to the 2008-09 Ligue 1 title, but he has been unable to replicate his success in the Premier League.

On Monday night, in an interview with RMC in France, the player said his "priority" was to remain in England, despite his lack of opportunities, but that he has not ruled out a switch to Bordeaux.

Triaud, asked about those remarks in the Sud Ouest newspaper, said the club would look into the possibility of a loan switch.

"A transfer is not worth discussing," he said. "His salary is very high. We have to talk to the people at Arsenal to see what the terms and conditions for a loan would be. He's a talented boy but the situation is very complicated."

Chamakh, who signed for the Gunners on a free transfer, is reported to earn £55,000 a week.
