Fourth in their Champions League group with little hope of qualifying, Montpellier coach Rene Girard has stated his club's main focus is on defending their Ligue 1 title.
The French champions have just one point from their opening three games in Europe, and anything less than a win at Olympiakos on Tuesday would end their hopes of reaching the knockout phase.
Girard told a press conference that while he was now prioritising domestic matters, hew still wanted his side to fight in Europe while they still had hope of at least grabbing a Europa League place.
"Our priority is the French championship, but that does not mean we do not want to shine in the Champions League," he said. "I do not know if victory is mandatory (at Olympiakos), but we will do what we have to do. Olympiakos has extensive experience in the Champions League. Arsenal and Schalke have the advantage.
"We must be serious, play our game and avoid the mistakes of previous matches. Aligning two strikers can help us greatly, but each must do their job properly."
