Barca hit by Adriano injury blow

Barcelona's defensive concerns have deepened with the news that Adriano will be out for three weeks after suffering a leg injury during the win over Celta Vigo.

• Record-breaking Blaugrana

The club confirmed the Brazilian, who scored the opening goal in Barca's 3-1 win, had suffered an injury to the adductor muscle in his right leg, which forced him to limp off seven minutes before half time.

A statement on the club's website read: "Adriano Correia sustained a tear in the adductor of his right thigh in the match against Celta. He'll be out of action for three weeks, according to the club's medical services.

"This is the second time that Adriano hasn't been able to finish a match this season due to injury. The first time was against Granada when he picked up a calf injury."

Adriano's absence is a further blow for coach Tito Vilanova, with Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique out through injury, though both have resumed training.

It poses a problem ahead of Barca's trip to Glasgow to face Celtic on Wednesday in the Champions League with a tough, physical match in store for the Spanish giants.
