Nene keen on Brazil move

Paris Saint-Germain winger Nene has revealed he would welcome the chance to return to his native Brazil.

• Coupe de la Ligue review

Nene is hoping to resume training next week after a facial operation ten days ago, but his future in Paris is far from certain.

The 31-year-old signed from Monaco in 2010 and was the joint leading scorer in Ligue 1 last season with 21 goals, while also contributing 11 assists, but after a summer of lavish spending he is no longer guaranteed a place in Carlo Ancelotti's starting line-up.

Nene could yet extend his PSG contract, but he has indicated that he is keen to reunite with his family in Brazil in Sao Paulo.

"I want to be closer to my children," he told Brazilian website UOL. "Football in Brazil has evolved. It has the right conditions to make players better."

PSG are the ninth club Nene has represented since turning professional in 1999, and he added: "You say I'm a wandering soul, but I only consider what is best for my career and my life."

His prospects of first-team football will recede further in January when Lucas Moura, the Sao Paulo star, arrives in a €40 million deal, but Nene has only praise for his compatriot.

"Lucas is an explosive player," he said of the player who netted a hat-trick at the weekend in a 4-2 victory over Sport Recife. "He is very fast, he is great technically and, unlike a lot [of players with the same qualities], he also knows to score."

Nene, who left Brazil for Mallorca in 2003, added: ''The most important thing for him is that he must be cool. It will make his adaptation easier."
