My dad's the best A-League coach: Vidosic

Dario Vidosic says he's still being coached by his father despite being at rival A-League clubs.

And the Adelaide United playmaker rates his father, Brisbane coach Rado, as better than his current mentor John Kosmina.

Vidosic's Reds confront his father's Roar in an early-season blockbuster on Sunday.

"I don't want to upset any of my previous coaches but, for me, he is the best coach I have ever had," Vidosic told reporters in Adelaide on Thursday.

"I have had him from when I was very, very young and still, to this day, he coaches me ... he will give me pointers every week, what I can do better and what I have done well."

But Vidosic doubted his father would offer any tips in their daily chats leading into Sunday's fixture in Brisbane.

"It's all put to one side once the referee blows that whistle," he said of the family connection.

"That is the furthest thing from my mind - and my Dad, he'll want to win and I want to win as well.

"I definitely want to have bragging rights."

Table-topping Adelaide's ominous early-season form has led bookmakers to install the Reds as equal favourites with Brisbane to claim the minor premiership.

After four games, Adelaide have banked nine points compared to four by Brisbane, who were upset last start by league newcomers Western Sydney.

But Vidosic was wary of reading too much into the slow start from his father's club.

"As the champions, they're expected to win every single game and to almost win every game with ease," he said.

"But you can't do that.

"Last week, it wasn't the normal Roar. Their passes weren't sticking - we'd love for that to happen again because it gives us a much better chance.

"But we're prepared for a 100 per cent Roar."
