Pogba saves Juve, Inter up to second

Paul Pogba’s late header hands Juventus all three points in their Serie A tie against Bologna

A stoppage time winner from Paul Pogba helped Juventus maintain their Serie A lead with a 2-1 win over Bologna.

After a stalemate in the first half, it took just nine minutes after the restart for Fabio Quagliarella to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Quagliarella wreaked more havoc through the Bologna defence with another attempt on goal just a minute later which forced goalkeeper Federico Agliardi to be alert.

Juventus looked in control, but Bologna equalised in the 71st minute when Saphir Sliti Taider slotted his shot past a helpless Gianluigi Buffon.

With time running out, Paul Pogba won a free kick on the right side and headed in Sebastian Giovinco's cross to seal the three points for Juventus.

Inter Milan defeated Sampdoria 3-2 to move into second place and maintain the pressure on Juventus.

Sampdoria took a 1-0 lead into half time after a 20th minute goal from Gianni Munari. But momentum swung Inter's way when Sampdoria defender Andrea Costa was sent off for bringing down Diego Milito in the penalty area.

Milito converted from the spot before goals to Rodrigo Palacio and Fredy Guarin gave Inter a 3-1 lead. Citadin Eder scored a consolation goal in stoppage time for Sampdoria.

Napoli fell six points behind Juventus with a 1-0 defeat at Atalanta. A 19th minute volley from Carlos Carmona was enough to seal the three points for the hosts, moving them into 10th spot.

Siena failed to move from the bottom of the table following a 4-2 defeat against Cagliari.

Nene helped wrap the match up for Cagliari in the first half with the forward scoring a brace and assisting Marco Sau's 28th minute goal to give the hosts a 3-0 lead. Erjon Bogdani pulled one back for Siena but a late Ribeiro Cardoso Thiago strike put the result beyond doubt as Cagliari moved into eighth place.

Two goals in as many minutes helped Chievo Verona move out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Pescara adding further woe to the Delfini's season. A Siqueira Luciano penalty and Adrian Stoian goal a minute later pushed Chievo into 15th place.

Elsewhere, Lazio and Torino shared a 1-1 draw. The guests took the lead after just 10 minutes when Kamil Glik headed home but Champions League chasing Lazio restored parity thanks to Stefano Mauri's 57th-minute effort.

Parma came from behind to take all three points with a 3-2 win against Roma and leapfrog their opponents in the table.

Erik Lamela put the Giallorossi in front after only eight minutes before Ishak Belfodil and Marco Parolo scored in quick succession to put the hosts ahead at the interval. Cristiano Zaccardo then made it 3-1 before Francesco Totti fired home at the second attempt when his penalty was saved.

Belfodil saw red with seven minutes remaining but his team-mates were able to hang on for the win and go above Roma and into sixth place.

Veteran striker Antonio Di Natale scored an injury-time equaliser as Udinese salvaged a 2-2 draw with Catania.

Di Natale opened the scoring after 29 minutes but Catania stormed ahead with only minutes remaining when Francesco Lodi fired in a free-kick after Lucas Castro had earlier benefited on some poor defending. But Di Natale popped up moments from the end as he thrashed into an unguarded net after the Catania defence left him unmarked.
