Jordan Ayew happy to stay at Marseille

Jordan Ayew, who was linked with a summer move to either Nice or an English club, has said he has no regrets about his decision to stay with Marseille.

Ayew, 21, scored three goals in 34 Ligue 1 games last season, playing the majority of those as a substitute. He had appeared close to leaving on loan but opted to remain at Marseille, where his brother Andre also plays.

"The boss [Eli Baup] said he wanted me to stay and asked me to be patient. I'm really happy to play at Marseille", the Ghana international told L'Équipe.

"I try to channel my passion. My relatives help me a lot - Andre, for example. I'm glad he is there.

"Without him, I could do things which would have cost me dear. I will win the respect through my performances and now, mentally, I'm very strong."
