Montpellier boss Rene Girard has criticised his players for not carrying out his instructions after they suffered a 2-1 Champions League loss at home to Olympiakos.
Despite taking the lead in the 49th minute through Gaetan Charbonnier, Montpellier slipped to a second defeat in Group B as Olympiakos netted two late goals.
The result leaves the French club bottom of the standings, with just one point garnered, and Girard feels their hopes of reaching the knockout phase are over.
Girard said: "Since the beginning of the season, we have encountered the same problems. I expect them to be disciplined, determined, concentrated. However, on the two goals, there was nothing like that.
"The first and second places in the Champions League are certainly lost. We will see for the third."
Girard went on to lambast his charges, adding: "If I blame them, I blame myself also, as maybe I made the wrong choices. But yes, I blame them because football is about thinking and I do not think my feeling reflects theirs."
Montpellier are also struggling in Ligue 1, with the club 16th in the standings and just a point above the relegation zone.
