Magath keeps quiet over criticism

VfL Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath has kept quiet following Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness' recent criticism of him.

Magath has found life tough this season with his side currently sitting bottom of the Bundesliga, taking just five points from eight games.

And on Monday Hoeness hit out at the former Bayern boss claiming that the poor set of results must be a result of his coaching methods.

"If a team plays like this, either the players are too exhausted from training or against the coach," he said.

"It was similar in Munich when after winning back to back league titles, 80% of the players were against him."

However, Magath refused to comment on the attack when asked about it, before releasing a statement through Wolfsburg's press officer.

"I am not interested in what he says," it read. "Mr Hoeness is entitled to say whatever he wants. When you top the league, people love to hear your opinion."

Magath will meet the Wolfsburg board this week to offer his opinion as to where things are going wrong for the 2009 German champions.

German newspaper FAZ have labeled the upcoming days 'Magath's week of truth' and hinted that the board will give the coach just one or two more games to turn things around.
