Phoenix maintain unbeaten run

Wellington Phoenix remain unbeaten in the current A-League campaign after Ricki Herbert's men claimed a 1-1 draw with Brisbane Roar in New Zealand on Sunday.

Former Belgium international Stein Huysegems opened the scoring for the home side on 16 minutes. The striker has impressed since joining the Phoenix in the off-season, and his strike sent the crowd into raptures.

However, the league's top goalscorer last season, Besart Berisha, levelled matters just before the half-time interval as Brisbane held on to fifth place on the table.

Melbourne Heart, though, suffered their first defeat of the season after their former left-back Dean Heffernan put Perth Glory in front after 38 minutes. Striker Billy Mehmet sealed the points as the Glory moved to six points alongside Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets.
