Dynamo Moscow fans fire paint balls

Socceroos veteran Luke Wilkshire's club Dynamo Moscow have vowed tough action against club fans who shot players with paintball guns during a training session to protest at the side's worst-ever start to the season.

"We're set to use all the resources we have at our disposal to discover those responsible and bring them to court," the club said on its official website.

"We are also set to make the names of those responsible public."

Midfielder Alan Gatagov said a group of fans dressed in camouflage gear arrived at the club's training ground on Friday and unleashed a barrage of paintballs at the players and club staff.

They also threw flyers onto the pitch, some threatening the club's foreign players such as Wilkshire and demanding better performances.

One of the player managers at Inspire Sports Management tweeted that Wilkshire left training just before the attacks.

"I just can't find the right words," 21-year-old Gatagov told R-Sport news agency.

"What are we supposed to do now? Should each of us hire a personal bodyguard "I was hit in the back of the head when they shot at us. Lots of players were also hit."

The attacks sour a positive week for Wilkshire after playing in Australia's vital 2-1 win over Iraq in a World Cup qualifier in Doha on Tuesday.

Dynamo Moscow, currently fourth bottom of the Russian Premier League with just nine points from 11 games, have never been relegated from the top flight but have got off to a woeful start to the season.

They are 17 points behind league leaders Anzhi Makhachkala and have been beaten eight times.

Earlier this year Dynamo fans fired flares and scrawled graffiti in the street outside the training ground, urging the players to stop humiliating the famous Dynamo name.

The flyers thrown by the fans read: "If the club and the coaches can't motivate you then, believe us, we will do it. We are the supporters and the fans. And our methods will be a little more serious."
