Retired Germany international Michael Ballack was caught speeding in Spain, according to newspaper Marca on Thursday.
Ballack announced his retirement from professional football two weeks ago, and claimed: "I have other interests beside football, and I can devote my time to them now."
On holiday in Spain, Ballack was reportedly caught speeding on the A5 highway in the Extremadura region. According to Marca information, Ballack was seen driving at 211 km/h in a 120 km/h zone. A police spokesman confirmed that Ballack was stopped due to "dizzy speed".
According to a judicial spokesperson of the town of Trujilo, Ballack appeared in court early on Thursday and denied the accusations. The 36-year-old has to re-appear in court later this month, the spokesperson confirmed.
