Blackburn cool interest in trio
Blackburn Rovers are believed to have cooled their interest in Alan Shearer, Sven-Goran Eriksson and Ian Holloway with the club wanting a young manager to replace Steve Kean.
Former Blackburn captain Tim Sherwood fit their bill of an up-and-coming young name, however, the club were refused permission by Tottenham to speak to their coach.
The Championship club have been inundated with applications and have a large list of potential candidates, but are hoping to whittle it down to a final shortlist of two to three names.
"Blackburn are searching for someone young but with a name who will carry the support of the fans and galvanise the club, but that isn't easy," a source told ESPN.
The club's global advisor Shebby Singh is planning to interview candidates next week, but he might have to re-think his current billing for a new manager if he cannot find the right man, with Roy Keane still another possibility.
Blackburn would ideally want one of the likes of Henrik Larsson, Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer or Gary Neville, however, none have expressed any interest in wanting to join.
