Redknapp open to international job

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has said he could consider managing a national team other than England.

Redknapp parted company with Spurs in June 2012, having managed them since October 2008, and has since been linked with a number of vacancies.

QPR, Southampton and Leicester have all been mentioned as potential destinations for Redknapp, who is currently working in an advisory role at his former club Bournemouth.

He has not yet been tempted by any of the "few good offers from decent clubs abroad", but has said he would consider national jobs with countries other than England.

"I would consider it if it was the right job, yeah," he told the Press Association. "If it was something where you had the chance to be successful and do well with that team, wherever it would be, I would be interested, but who knows?

"You can never say never. You never know in this game. If something good comes along that interested me, I'd be interested in getting back in again.

"It would have to be something I'd really want to do. I wouldn't just dive in and take any job for the sake of it.

"I worked with good players the last eight or nine years or so and enjoyed it, so that is where I would want to be.

"I've had offers from abroad - quite a few good offers from decent clubs abroad - but they've not really interested me so I've not done anything with any of them.

"Other than that, I've kept a low profile. Saturday afternoons, if am around, I go and watch Bournemouth play.

"I get there, watch the game and normally leave five or ten minutes before the end and watch the 5.15pm kick-off on TV. That's it really.

"I haven't been to a Premier League game. I wouldn't want to start turning up and people saying: 'What's he doing here?' I've kept out the way, really."
