Remy eyes return to starting XI

Loic Remy believes he is once again ready to lead Marseille's attack after recovering from a thigh injury picked up prior to Euro 2012.

• Ayew exit news to him
• Baup delighted with Gignac

Remy, 25, has made five appearances as a substitute thus far this season, but is yet to start a match in Elie Baup's side. Andre-Pierre Gignac has instead been the preferred striker, scoring five goals in eight games to steer Marseille to the top of the Ligue 1 standings.

After missing three months with a right thigh injury sustained in May, Remy is now hoping to force his way back into the starting XI, perhaps forming a partnership with Gignac.

"I miss playing time. But there is a team which is built now, [and it is] up to me to win my position", he said. ''I want to be a holder. I have to continue on the same way I am here for two and a half years.

"I feel good, I have good legs. I'm still suffering to concretise chances, but I'm happy."

A recall to the France squad is also not out of the question, but Remy is aware he must increase his game time at club level in order to earn the nod from Didier Deschamps.

"I won't give up, I'm one of the guys who never give up," said Remy. "I was frustrated to miss such a game like Spain-France [this week], I'll do everything to be back in that group."

Remy has been linked with a move to the Premier League over the past 12 months, with reports claiming Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham are all tracking his progress.
