Prandelli urges Italy focus

Cesare Prandelli has reacted angrily to questions from the Italian media about the Serie A game between Juventus and Napoli this weekend.

• Prandelli praises Italy character

• Buffon a doubt for Italy

The sides, who are joint top, meet in a clash which will give an early advantage in the title race but Prandelli is keen for his squad to focus all of their energies on the World Cup qualifier against Denmark and not be distracted by domestic matters.

"Juve – Napoli? We do not care about that. It's a game that concerns fans and journalists only," the Italy boss said. "All that we're worried about is the three points and I hope that everyone is concentrating on this game.

"The last time we talked about a club game, we lost to the USA in Genoa so I will not say any more about things that do not concern the national team.

Juventus' game with Napoli is given added importance as it sees first choice Azzurri goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon match up against his deputy, Napoli's Morgan De Sanctis.

Buffon is a doubt for the Denmark game with a thigh strain, but despite missing training on Monday, Prandelli is hopeful his captain can play a role.

"Buffon wants to play," he said. "We will assess it in the morning, but he hasn't trained as a precaution."
