Borussia Moenchengladbach director of football Max Eberl has rubbished speculation that youngsters Patrick Herrmann and Granit Xhaka could be set to leave the club.
Moenchengladbach, last year's surprise package in the Bundesliga, have no intention of selling two of their brightest prospects according to Eberl, who told Bild: "Does it start again? Certainly not!" and attempted to end all talk of possible moves for the sought after pair.
According to reports in The Sun in England and Gazetta dello Sport in Italy, Inter Milan and Tottenham are set to fight it out for the 21-year-old midfielder Herrmann, who is under contract until 2014, with both clubs willing to pay between €7 million and €10 million for his services.
Meanwhile controversial Swiss midfielder Xhaka, 20, has again been targeted by Lazio, according to Italian newspaper reports. Xhaka, who made the news after comments on his situation in Gladbach only arrived from FC Basel this summer.
Gladbach coach Lucien Favre said: "It is hard to compare Basel and Gladbach. Basel is Switzerland's FC Bayern, the club always targets winning the title but Bundesliga is of a different class. He should concentrate on his performance. And he needs to adjust to the pace of Bundesliga football."
