Di Santo: We must improve concentration

Wigan striker Franco Di Santo believes that concentration is the key to improving the club's precarious Premier League position.

• Blog: Di Santo comes into his own

Roberto Martinez's side are currently 15th and just two points above the relegation zone, after winning only one of their opening seven matches.

A failure to win at home this season has been a factor in their standing, although they were on course to beat Everton at the DW Stadium in their last match before conceding an 87th-minute penalty, allowing Leighton Baines to secure a 2-2 draw.

And Di Santo, 23, feels that the club can pull away from the wrong end of the table if they learn to see out matches when in such winning positions as against Everton.

"It's nothing major that we have to correct," he told the Wigan Evening Post.

"We just have to concentrate more in the last quarter of matches - particularly in the last five minutes - because that has cost us already this season.

"We have played well for most of the season and we have been a little unlucky in some parts of the games.

"But it's nothing to worry about because it's something that can be easily fixed.

"Everyone here still believes in each other 100 per cent and I am convinced we are on the right lines."
