Yoan Gourcuff will hand Lyon manager Remi Garde a boost when he returns to full training for the club on Monday.
Gourcuff, 26, who picked up a knee injury in the 4-1 win against Troyes two months ago, has completed his rehabilitation at Saint-Raphael and will return to training centre Tola-Vologe next week.
Garde will be pleased to have the France international back but he is not getting too carried away as he does not yet know when exactly he will be ready to return to match action.
"For Yoann, he should be back on Monday," Garde said. "But I cannot tell you better things."
There is also further good news on the injury front for the Lyon boss with Michel Bastos getting closer to his return from a back problem.
However, again Garde knows he will have to be patient, especially with the Brazil international suffering from problems at home too.
"I envisages a gradual return," he added. "He is the victim of a personal problem which is greatly handicapped.
"This is in addition to a recurrent concern in his back. There is nothing dramatic but precautions are taken in agreement with him.
"I will not deny that there are two factors to justify his absence, the main one being personal."
