Laudrup backed amid reports of rebellion

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has played down fears about Michael Laudrup's management style, claiming he is still bedding into life at the Welsh club.

Reports in the Daily Mail suggest that Jenkins has met more than once with disgruntled players who are concerned about the Dane's tactical approach, training methods and fitness work with some even staying on for extra sessions in order to make sure they are prepared for matches.

Laudrup replaced Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium this summer and on the surface the former Spartak Moscow and Getafe boss has made a steady start. Swansea are 11th in the Premier League and ended a run of three defeats when they fought back to earn a 2-2 draw with Reading at the weekend.

Jenkins is confident the matter will be easily resolved and has given Laudrup his full backing to succeed, putting his players' worries down to the natural progression that comes with changing managers.

"As with any change in manager, particularly at a club who have been successful, it will take time to settle down," Jenkins said. "Everyone has a different approach and this is a normal issue for us after Brendan Rodgers went to Liverpool.

"Michael knew the philosophy of the club when he came here and that won't change whether he is the manager or not. They all agree to manage the club a certain way."
