Argentina's Lionel Messi says he does not think being named captain of his country has changed him as a person.
Messi, 25, was given the armband by boss Alejandro Sabella last year, and La Albiceleste have since won four and draw two of the seven competitive fixtures under his leadership.
And the Barcelona star is delighted that Argentina's change of form has coincided with him gaining the captaincy.
"I lived through some sad times with the results [we were having]," he told Fox Sports Radio. "Now that we are winning, everything gets easier.
"I always really enjoy coming to play with Argentina. We are growing as a team, and we are still becoming stronger as a group.
"Wearing the captain's armband has not changed me. I still do the same things with my team-mates."
Argentina are currently top of their World Cup qualifying group, one point above Colombia and Ecuador, but have crucial World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Chile on Friday and Tuesday.
